Benedicta Mayonnaise, made with fresh eggs, is a versatile condiment that pairs well with both meat and fish. According to French history, this beloved dressing was first created by the Duke of Richelieu, an ancestor of the famous Cardinal de Richelieu. The Duke named it "Mahonnaise" after the capital of the Majorque island, Port-Mahon, was captured in 1756.
