Cornish Yarg is a semi-hard cow's milk cheese made in Cornwall, United Kingdom. Before being left to mature, this cheese is traditionally wrapped in nettle leaves to form an edible, moldy rind. This delightful variation of the same recipe uses wild garlic leaves instead of nettles.  The striking contrast in taste and texture is entirely down to nature. The aromatic wild garlic from Cornish woodlands each spring is hand selected and picked for the cheese.

Lynher Dairies team of nettlers wrap the leaves around the bare truckle in a ribbon pattern. Six weeks later, the wild garlic has created a slightly firmer texture than the nettles. They darken in color and impart a gentle garlicky flavor to the tangy cheese, so we like to say Wild Garlic Yarg whispers rather than shouts its name.

Cornish Yarg is made with vegetarian rennet and is suitable for vegetarians.
