About this item

Fall is here and that Oktoberfest feeling is in the air. Celebrate at home with our collection of three Alpine cheeses from Germany and Austria. Pair them with your favorite German beer, Riesling or Schnapps and shout "Prost!"

Collection includes 1/2 lb. of each cheese:

Alp Blossom

Alp Blossom's rind is coated in herbs and flowers including cornflower, lavender, marjoram, lovage, and chervil. And its pale yellow paste, with widespread holes, is evocative of the best of Alpine cheeses. With toasty flavors of savory herbs and rose petals, Alp Blossom is reminiscent of Gruyère: nutty, a bit beefy, and with savory hits from the rind—but with a herbaceous smell and pastoral sweetness. Pair with Riesling, Rose and wheat beers.

Sennerkäse is a traditional, semi-soft, German, Alpine cheese made from raw, organic cow’s milk and aged for six months. On the nose and palate, this creamy, buttery cheese shows herbal and grassy notes, toasted grain flavors, and slight salinityThe Sennerkäse on its own is a beautiful addition to a cheese platter, as well as a wonderful melted topping for potatoes, vegetables, and meats. Pair this with German wines such as Riesling or Gewürztraminer, or a Bavarian-style beer like Helles, Pils, or Weissbier.

St. Mang Limburger

Limburger is a soft cheese made by Käserei Champignon, Lauben / Allgäu, Germany. Natural red cultures are added to local cow's milk that gives a red-yellow colour with slightly spicy taste. This soft cheese is mild when young and develops all the complex characteristics of Limburger after maturation.  Pair Limburger with a Belgian Pale Ale, or a classic Austrian wine like Grüner Veltliner.
