Drunken Goat (Murcia al Vino PDO)
About this item
Murcia Al Vino is better known in the United States as ‘Drunken Goat.’ That’s because each wheel of Murciana goat cheese is bathed in Monastrell doble pasta wine. The cheese is aged around 45 days, keeping the texture semi-soft and supple.
The flavor is mild, with a cultured yogurt tang and slight sweetness from the wine. There’s no ‘goatiness’ to speak of, making it a perfect gateway cheese for folks who don’t normally go for goat cheese.
Drunken Goat is approachable and plays well with others. Great for large gatherings and tapas nights.
